My Psychic Source Experience: The Video Readings That Changed How I See Everything
Psychic Source was the fifth platform I tried, and in some ways, I saved the best for almost-last. By the time I found Psychic Source, I’d done around 30 readings across other platforms and considered myself reasonably experienced. Then Psychic Source showed me a format I hadn’t expected: video readings. And everything shifted.
In 8 readings and $356, Psychic Source delivered the highest quality-per-reading average of any platform I tested. Six of my eight readings were good or excellent — a 75% hit rate. If I’d had a larger sample, this might have beaten California Psychics for the #1 spot in my overall rankings.
Why Video Readings Are Different
I was terrified of my first video reading. Phone calls felt anonymous — the reader couldn’t see me, which felt safe. Chat on Kasamba was even safer — just words on a screen. But showing my face? Sitting in my living room while a stranger on the other side of a screen told me things about my life? That felt intensely vulnerable.
I almost cancelled three times before the call connected. I’m glad I didn’t.
The difference between a video reading and a phone reading is like the difference between a phone call and being in the same room. The reader sees you — your body language, your facial expressions, the way you hold tension in your shoulders or avoid eye contact when something hits close to home. And you see them, which creates an accountability that doesn’t exist in other formats.
My first video reader looked at me through the screen, was silent for about ten seconds (which felt like a minute), and then said: “You’re clenching your jaw. You’ve been clenching it for months. The grief is in your body, not just your mind.”
She was right. I’d been grinding my teeth in my sleep so badly that my dentist had prescribed a night guard. Headaches every morning. But what made this reading special wasn’t the observation — it was what she did with it. She spent the next twenty minutes connecting the physical tension to the emotional work I was avoiding. She didn’t just predict or diagnose; she guided me toward understanding what my body was trying to tell me.
That reading is why I started yoga, which has been one of the most healing things in my recovery from the divorce.
The 30-Year Platform
Psychic Source has been around since 1989, which makes it one of the longest-running psychic services in existence. That longevity shows in ways both good and bad.
The good: they’ve had decades to refine their reader screening. Like California Psychics, they test applicants before accepting them. The result is a generally higher quality floor — fewer wasted readings, fewer generic responses, fewer red flags.
Also good: the review system is mature. Reader profiles have detailed, lengthy customer reviews that span years. When I was choosing readers, I could read reviews from 2020, 2022, and 2025 to see if quality was consistent over time. That kind of track record is invaluable.
The not-as-good: some aspects of the website feel their age. It’s not as outdated as some platforms, but compared to Purple Garden’s sleek app, the interface feels practical rather than inviting. A minor complaint, but worth mentioning.
My Other Memorable Readings
The Career Clarity Reading
About four months into my experiment, after I’d gotten the promotion that the Keen reader predicted, I was wondering whether to stay at my company long-term or use the new title as a springboard to something else. A Psychic Source reader told me to stay for at least another year — that there was a restructuring coming that would create opportunities I couldn’t access from the outside. She said the word “consolidation.”
Two months later, my company announced a merger with a competitor. My new team lead role put me in a position to take on a larger combined team. I’m glad I stayed.
The Healing Reading
One reading wasn’t predictive at all — it was purely therapeutic. The reader was an energy healer who spent the entire session helping me work through a wave of grief that had hit me unexpectedly (it was the week after my wedding anniversary, which David and I had obviously not celebrated). She didn’t tell me the future. She held space for my present. Sometimes that’s worth more than any prediction.
What Psychic Source Does Well
- Video readings: The standout feature. Nothing else compares for depth of connection.
- Reader screening: High quality floor comparable to California Psychics
- Established reviews: Decades of customer reviews help you choose wisely
- Multiple formats: Phone, chat, and video all available
- Satisfaction guarantee: Genuine refund policy if you’re unhappy
- Spiritual breadth: Readers who do healing work, not just predictions
Where Psychic Source Falls Short
- Video anxiety: The video format is incredible but not everyone will be comfortable with it
- Pricing: Mid-to-high range; not the cheapest option
- Smaller selection: Fewer readers than Keen due to screening
- Website design: Functional but not modern
Pricing
Introductory rates are competitive — I got my first reading for around $1 per minute. Regular rates range from about $4 to $15 per minute. Video readings tend to be slightly higher, which I think is fair given the experience. My 8 readings totaled $356, averaging about $44 per session.
Would I Recommend Psychic Source?
Strongly, especially for video readings. If you’re willing to push past the vulnerability of being on camera, the depth of connection is unmatched. I also recommend it for anyone seeking spiritual or healing-oriented readings rather than purely predictive ones.
